Wonderful location, comfortable little apartment in an atmospheric old town. The standard of teaching was excellent and the afternoon excursions were fun. Highly recommended. So good I will stay for two weeks next time. Thank you Corine.

I chose Valorme on the recommendation of an English friend who had gone there. I have been there three times now. Two other friends, one Norwegian and the other American/English have gone there and have also liked it very much. So put us down as Fans of Valorme!
I learned a lot and fell satisfied that I got my money's worth.
One of the advantages of Valorme is that because Corine is a solo teacher, she is not bound by a curriculum and can adapt her method and choose materials to meet students' needs...even at the drop of a hat as people's attention flags or she senses the need for a change of pace.
Because Foix is off the beaten track, fewer people speak English than in a larger city. And because it is small and everybody in town knows Corine, when they see you with her, they will know that you want to use French. (In fact, Corine avoids restaurants where the staff will tend to speak English to students.)

I can recommend the immersion course at 'Valorme' without reservation. Everything promised on the website was fulfilled, and Corine communicated with me promptly and clearly from my very first email enquiry.
The accommodation was spacious and comfortable and very well-maintained, with attention to detail such as nice lighting and freshly ironed tea towels.
I really enjoyed the lessons and found Corine to be very professional: always well prepared, approachable and able to meet the learning needs of all in the class.
Afternoon excursions were organised with consultation, and eating lunches together was an easy way of getting to know the other students as well as learning about French cuisine and manners. I was only able to attend for one week, and wished I could have stayed for a second, so I may well be back.

Last year Rich and I visited Corine Rouleau to do a reconnaissance on her small French immersion school (valorme.com) in Foix at the foot of the Pyrenees. We had always talked about really trying to improve our French and our visit with Corine “sealed the deal”. Corine and her husband Alain bought a small apartment building in the medieval section of Foix seven years ago and subdivided into several studio apartments. She has no more than six students at a time and does not mix beginners with more advanced students in any one week.
This experience has far exceeded our expectations. Corine is a wonderful teacher who creates a very interesting and well-paced classroom experience. No language other than French is spoken and we saw tremendous progress from the beginning of the week to the end, so much so that Rich and I are trying to speak primarily in French even in our studio. After more than three hours in the classroom (with a coffee break where we speak only French as well), we all go to lunch together. There are at least twenty little restaurants in the old town so there is no shortage of choices. Of course we speak nothing but French at lunch as well! After we finish lunch, three days a week we go on an excursion to an interesting museum or site. Corine is our guide and we’ve loved every single experience, whether it’s a huge grotto with cave paintings, hiking up steep hills to a ruined Cathar castle or going to a charming town like Mirepoix. This is absolutely fantastic! On Wednesdays we have a free afternoon and on Fridays we have a course review in the afternoon. She really keeps us hoppin’!
The best part may be the end of the day when we prepare a salad in our room, slice up a fresh baguette and open a bottle of wine! Small though the studio is, it has a little refrigerator, a two-burner stove, a sink and a couple of cupboards with dishes and a few pots and pans; so it really is quite adequate. There’s a salon on our floor where we can watch French TV or read (French books) and we may not speak anything but French there.

"Wszystkim miłośnikom Francji i języka francuskiego polecam pobyt w Valorme. Foix i okolice to rejon bogaty w atrakcje, od prehistorycznych grot i średniowiecznych twierdz, do festiwali muzycznych i filmowych. Zajęcia są dopasowane do indywidualnych potrzeb i zainteresowań, a apartamenty dostarczają wszelkich wygód.

I most enthusiastically recommend Valorme with Corine Rouleau. I am an intermediate level student of French lacking a proficiency in many of the finer points of the language. Corine was able to clear up many of these difficulties for me and in a way that I will remember. In addition, the unique structure of the course with conversational lunches and fascinating excursions greatly enhanced my two weeks at Valorme. I loved my studio apartment and the view out my window of the Castle at Foix was spectacular.
